Director : Rohit Shetty ‘Golmaal Returns’ Hindi Movie Review : -Juvenile Comedy Golmaal Returns 2008 Indian Hindi Movie Download Three guys lying on top of each other in a position that would make you think that they are about to ‘ding dong’. Or imagine this. A guy falling through the air lands on his crotch on a pointed rock. Ouch!! That’s the kind of humour Golmaal Returns offers. That this comedy film by Rohit Shetty is a no-brainer goes without saying. It’s a film that suspends reason and wit for juvenile humour. It has plenty of gags stitched one after the other in its threadbare script, but many of these gags are utterly lame. Like, what would be Lara Dutta’s name if she marries Brian Lara? Lara Lara. Hey! You’re supposed to laugh here. Ain’t that so funny? The film hardly has a story to write about. Gopal ( Ajay Devgan ) has an over-suspicious wife Ekta ( Kareena Kapoor ) who’s hooked to the Balaji teleserials. One night when Gopal is unable to reach home after saving a girl ( Celina Jaitley ) from a bunch of goons, Ekta demands an explanation. Knowing his wife’s suspicious nature, Gopal tells her a lie that he was with his friend named Anthony Gonsalves. But Ekta is adamant. She writes to Anthony and asks to meet him to cross-check if Gopal is telling the truth. To hide his lie, Gopal makes his junior Laxman ( Shreyas Talpade ) pretend as Anthony. Gopal also takes Ekta’s mute brother Lucky ( Tusshar Kapoor ) into confidence. Together the trio of Gopal, Lucky and Laxman fool Ekta into believing in Gopal’s lie. But their bluff is called when the real Anthony Gonsalves shows up. To make things worse, enters inspector Madhav ( Arshad Warsi ) who is investigating a murder that happened on the night Gopal stayed out of his home. Now, Madhav is a cop who loves Gopal’s sister Esha ( Amrita Arora ), but he can’t stand the sight of Gopal. As Gopal invents one lie after another, the story goes through a series of crazy and silly situations before culminating in an over-the-top climax. Rohit Shetty’s main motto is to make the audiences laugh at any cost, and he does try sincerely. The only trouble is that some of the jokes are so slapstick and crass that you don’t find them funny at all. Like the scene in which Vrajesh Hirjee (the karate man with a cobra tattooed on his belly) is tortured by electric shock in a pool of water and is tossed scores of feet in the air whenever his tormentor dips the electrocuted wire in the water. The movie also takes repeated digs at Sanjay Leela Bhansali and his films Black and Sawariya . But none of it is really hilarious. The funny moments in the film come from Tusshar Kapoor, Arshad Warsi and Shreyas Talpade. Ajay Devgan chips in a bit of his own style of humour but he is certainly outshone by others. Kareena is charming in a light-hearted role. Celina Jaitley doesn’t do what she is best at but still catches your eye. Amrita Arora and Anjana Sukhani hardly have a role. To sum it up, ‘Golmaal Returns’ is a kind of film you would enjoy if you have a taste for silly humour. But if you don’t, then this movie is a waste of your precious bucks. Yuck! Back Luck! Maanav Director : Madhur Bhandarkar Music Album : Fashion ‘Fashion’ Hindi Movie Review : - Nice Movie Fashion 2008 Hindi Movie Download Madhur Bhandarkar’s ‘Fashion’ is a nice but overlong movie that could do with some snipping. Running at the length of 17 long reels, the movie tells an unending human tale of ambition, success, degradation and re-emergence set against the backdrop of the fashion industry. At the centre of the story is Meghna Mathur ( Priyanka Chopra ) who comes to Mumbai to become a “supermodel”, against the wishes her father in Chandigarh. From the moment she sets her foot in the glam world, Meghna is exposed to the superficialities and ugly realities of the glam world of appearances. It’s a world where men are fashionably gay and women are used as “eye candy” in elite parties. On her way up the ladder, Meghna has to make many compromises. She has to pose in lingerie just to get her portfolio made. She has to put her work above her personal life to climb the ladder of success. As Meghna gets sucked into the world of fashion, she becomes a victim of her own success. She loses her boyfriend Maanav ( Arjan Bajwa ), a struggling model who opened his doors to her when she had nowhere to go. She loses her good friend Janet ( Mugdha Godse ) whom she befriended as a struggler. And, above all, she loses her self-respect and her confidence after being used and dumped by the modeling agency Panache and its owner ( Arbaaz Khan ). Parallel to Meghna’s story is the brief tale of Shonali ( Kangana Ranaut ), a cocaine-snorting, cranky, lanky model who is a show-stopper at fashion shows. Like Meghna, Shonali, too, has been used and dumped by the glam world. The only difference is that Meghna bounces back after hitting the rock bottom, while Shonali bites the dust. ‘Fashion’ starts off pretty well as a viewer is introduced to the fashiondom with its pansy men and plastic-smile women. But the movie begins to drag in the second half, with Meghna’s downfall. It becomes too grim, too somber. And it drags on and on. Haute Torture? The movie overstays its welcome but ends on a high note, with some drama thrown in. Madhur Bhandarkar indulges in a lot of clichés (like gay designers and exploiting bosses) but perhaps they could not have been avoided. After all, clichés they may be, they reflect the truth. Trouble starts when Madhur’s passion with his subjects begins to supersede their relevance to the story. That’s where ‘Fashion’ becomes heavy, tiring and exhausting experience. Priyanka Chopra is an actress who doesn’t have any definitive style to her acting but she is the soul of ‘Fashion’. She is an under-confident, middle-class girl at the beginning of the story and transforms into an arrogant model full of attitude in the second half before almost turning into a zombie with her fall from fame. Kangana Ranaut actually has a natural knack for playing the proverbial ‘girl interrupted’. She excels in the role of a disturbed model who eventually loses her mental balance. On the sidelines, Arbaaz Khan is mechanical, while Arjan Bajwa is pretty good in his performance. Mugdha Godse doesn’t have much acting range. Kitu Gidwani is okay. While ‘Fashion’ ends up testing your patience, it does have many things going for it. For instance, the styling of the actors done by Narendra Kumar, Rita Dhody and Rick Roy. The songs in the film are woven seamlessly into the plot and it is here some filmmakers in apna Bollywood can learn from Madhur. But Madhur ought to have been more controlled, restrained and less indulgent in the subject. Had he done that, ‘Fashion’ might have been a gripping film right to its conclusion. Urmila Matondkar …. ‘EMI’ Review: -Waste of Money EMI 2008 Hindi Movie Download Bhai log. Better save your sweat money for this month’s actual EMI, than to waste it on this boring film. EMI is loosely inspired from the films of Munnabhai series. The only difference is that here the protagonist Sattarbhai ( Sanjay Dutt ) is not the focus of the story. The story rather revolves around five different characters. There’s a disc jockey named Ryan ( Arjun Rampal ) who thrives on credit money and credit cards. He falls for a sexy gold-digger ( Malaika Arora who leaves him with huge debts running into lakhs. There’s a young couple ( Ashish Choudhary and Neha Oberoi ) who take loans to start their married life but end up divorcing and, consequently, defaulting on their easy monthly installments. There’s a young widow ( Urmila Matondkar ) trying to prove her husband’s suicide as a murder to get the whopping insurance money. And there’s a dad ( Kulbhushan Kharbanda ) struggling in his old days to repay the loans he took for the education of his son. Enters Sattarbhai (Sanjay Dutt) – a loan recovery agent with political ambitions. Sattarbhai is a reformed man. Instead of using his muscle power, he helps all the defaulters in repaying their loans. In the process, he mends their broken lives and also falls in love. The premise of ‘EMI’ is pretty sound. The trouble lies in its telling. Director Saurabh Kabra tries to put together a film from half-baked plots. For instance, you never get to know what caused the newly married couple to divorce. Nor are you shown the DJ’s girlfriend (Malaika) squandering the credit card money. Neither is believable the overnight transformation of Sattarbhai from a muscle-flexing recovery agent to a kind-hearted man out to reform others’ lives. It’s all told in a superficial way and at a fleeting pace. And that’s precisely why the movie unspools reel after reel on the big screen without gripping you for more than a few scattered moments. The worst part is the way the story sums up in the end. It’s as if the director wanted to wrap things up hurriedly. Having said that, credit must be given where it’s due. Sanjay Dutt – though he repeats his Munnabhai act – is pretty much the soul of EMI. The sad thing is his role is smaller than you expect. Aashish Chowdhary is very likeable playing a gutless husband who watches porn even though he has a snooty wife at home. Urmila Matondkar looks visibly uninterested in playing her role (perhaps being unhappy over being given the part of a widow with a five-year-old daughter). Arjun Rampal is pretty much forgettable in a brief role. Neha Oberoi shows a few fine flashes of acting. Producer Sunil Shetty really needs to review his production policies. After Mission Istanbul , this movie too turns out to be an utter disappointment. The most shocking thing about ‘EMI’ is its end. It comes so abruptly and unexpectedly that I overheard a couple next to me exclaiming with surprise: “Oye! Khatam Ho Gayi!” www.bollywoodmovies4u.com

Some things remain untouched by the passage of time. One such is the genre of family flicks by Rajshree Films, with its helmsman Sooraj Barjatya having himself churned out a good number of love stories set against the backdrop of families. Now, debutant director Kaushik Ghatak adapts himself well to the Rajshree genre and comes out with a simple and evocative story, rich in emotions that perhaps some, if not many, of us can barely identify with. ‘Ek Vivaah Aisa Bhi’ is a film with an old-world charm. It’s a charm we haven’t yet become alien to. That’s perhaps why it appeals. It’s a love story where romance brews despite any physical closeness between the lovers. In fact, the film is about separation, about not being able to be together despite wanting to. The villain in the story is not any character, but circumstances. Circumstances that test the story’s characters. It may sound cheesy, but ‘Ek Vivaah Aisa Bhi’ does get your handkerchiefs out in the second half. The movie tells the unique love story of Chandni ( Eesha Koppikhar ) and Prem ( Sonu Sood ). The two meet and fall in love at a singing performance. She comes from a poor family with an old father and two younger siblings. He hails from a rich family. Chandni is set to get engaged to Prem. But she postpones her marriage plans after her father passes away and she has to assume the responsibility of her younger siblings. Prem waits for Chandni. But the wait lasts nine long years. And after that when it looks Chandni and Prem would unite forever, another twist gives a new direction to their love tale. ‘Ek Vivaah Aisa Bhi’ conforms to the quintessential Barjatya tradition of songs set against the backdrop of weddings. That’s what pinches you in the first half, when you are served a good number of songs in quick succession. The story takes a serious turn in the second half. At one point, it appears that Prem and Chandni’s love story is doomed to die. But then, it’s a Rajshree film. The ending always has to be on a positive note. Eesha Koppikhar excels in a role that focuses not on glamour or skin-show, but solely on performance. And she does act well for the most part. Sonu Sood looks a tad mature for his role, but the actor delivers a fine performance. On the sidelines, Alok Nath and Vishal Malhotra (as Chandni’s brother) are good. The music of ‘Ek Vivaah Aisa Bhi’ doesn’t exactly win your heart. The cinematographic style too is pretty traditional, with smiling characters moving into the frames and the camera panning across to establish the setting of a scene. Kaushik Ghatak ’s style of direction is simple. He lets the story come to the fore without letting the style take over. Now, that’s another thing that the story is such that it appeals to us solely for nostalgic reasons. That’s the film’s shortcoming and yet also its uniqueness. Rating: **1/2 www.bollywoodmovies4u.com

Exploring 10 years journey of Kareena Kapoor ... Part III

It’s a known fact that Kareena Kapoor is easily ruling from the top as far as the demand for a commercially viable glamorous actress with very good acting skills is concerned. Satisfying all the key words here – ‘commercial’, ‘glamour’ and ‘acting’ – Kareena has seen it all pretty up, close and personal during last decade that she has spent in the industry. In this three part feature, here is looking at some of the many highlights in her career that have made Kareena what she is today. In the concluding Part III of the feature, we would be going through the hit run that Kareena enjoyed, the entire attention that she received post her Size-Zero days and the top position that she enjoys post the all time blockbuster success of 3 Idiots. The hit run begins Going back into the past, the little break that Kareena took in sorting out her career did work well after all. With critical acclaim coming her way after Chameli, Yuva and Dev, she returned to do mainstream cinema. This saw a flurry of successes coming her way with Aitraaz, Hulchul and Bewafaa doing well. Incidentally, she didn’t hesitate playing the role of a married woman in Aitraaz and Hulchul. Also she had strong competition from Priyanka Chopra in Aitraaz who had an author backed role. Still, she did play her part of a lawyer quite well in the film and ensured that she had a hit under her belt. In Hulchul, she was the sole leading lady in a film dominated by men and was a welcome relief. Bewafa took one of the best openings of those times and even though it didn’t quite go the whole hog, the star power of Kareena wasn’t to be ignored any more. She went on to do more films with Akshay Kumar, someone with whom she has been paired the maximum number of times. Her Dosti – Friends Forever just managed to pass muster while Kyun Ki, where she was paired with Salman Khan for the first time ever, flopped. Yet again, this was the classic case of a film where the product was challenged but not her acting capabilities. Coming up with a bravura performance, Kareena was hailed by critics but the box office success was a little distance away. In this period of uncertainty she agreed to do a special appearance in Shah Rukh Khan’s Don – The Chase Begins Again and reaped in benefits that came out of her dance number ‘Yeh Mera Dil’ which was earlier immortalised by Helen. However, change was the name of the game and she agreed to be a part of Omkara, a film where she had a central role to play. As someone who was killed by the very man (Ajay Devgn) who loved her most, Kareena came up with one of the most sensitive and defining performances of her career. This Vishal Bhardwaj directed film wasn’t a big hit then but has gained a cult status for itself over the years gone by. With the tag of a dependable actor continuing to dangle around her neck, Kareena went on to do something really outlandish and over the top in Tashan. The KS factor – Kareena’s style Aiming to bring in a different way that leading ladies were being looked at as, she brought the concept of ‘Size Zero’ in Bollywood. Really, if ever there was a style statement finding so much public attention for itself in the current decade, it was ‘Size Zero’ that Kareena brought to fore. As it happens with everything which is new, there was fair share of criticism that came Kareena’s way once her thin pencil like figure was put on display in Tashan. There were bouquets as well as brickbats coming her way, accolades followed by debates and headlines that screamed foul but the point was made – Kareena had found herself on the top of every media forum all over again. Despite the fact that Tashan as a film didn’t do much for it’s actors, it did help Kareena get into limelight in a big way. The follow up success of Golmaal Returns only helped the cause further with the film gaining tremendously from her star value. The highest grosser ever in Kareena’s career after 3 Idiots, Golmaal Returns worked well for Kareena as she could afford to let her hair down in this laugh-a-minute entertainer. Meanwhile she decided to balance realistic cinema with some totally glam affair. While the style statement continued with Kambakkht Ishq, she balanced it all with a Kurbaan. In the former she wore only designer outfits, in the latter she picked up clothes from a regular shopping mall. In the former she had everything over the top, in the latter she kept it all subtle. In the former she had songs and dances to keep her glam image alive; in the latter she appeared backless for a defining moment in the film. She was having fun in the former; the latter had her pining great hopes from the final outcome. The former turned out to be an average success; the latter was a heart wrenching failure. In the midst of this all, she also did Main Aurr Mrs Khanna but it was truly a film which an actor does in her career as a favour to help out friends. Surprisingly, even though Salman Khan (for whom this was a home production) sleep walked through the film, it was Kareena who was left unscathed because she yet again had her acting capabilities in display despite a half cooked plot. She thankfully compensated it all with 3 Idiots which turned out to be a historic event in the making. Life post 3 Idiots Kareena Kapoor has herself admitted that despite a short role in the film, she would have been naÃ¯ve enough to let it go for this very factor. She understood that combination of Aamir Khan, Raj Kumar Hirani, Vidhu Vinod Chopra and a powerful script was hardly something that she could let go by even though it wasn’t a heroine focused film. Willing to be a part of the history and adding a quality outing to her repertoire, Kareena willingly stepped into 3 Idiots which stays on to be the biggest money spinner ever produced out of Bollywood. A Rs. 200 crores plus outing means that it would take a massive film to even reach near this mark. It also means that for the biggest of the makers, Kareena has stayed on to be the top choice, something which is evident in the line up that she has. Believe it or not but Kareena has never been busier as she is today. While three of her biggies are on floors, there is fourth waiting to release and fifth in the making. Also, there are talks about her having signed at least a couple of more biggies that would keep her date diaries occupied till end of next year at the least. We Are Family (remake of Stepmom) is a Karan Johar production which is already running in theatres. She would be reuniting with the producer again for her film with Imran Khan. Madhur Bhandarkar is giving final touches to the script of Heroine where Kareena would be seen in an author backed role. Meanwhile, after wrapping up a major portion of Shah Rukh Khan starrer Ra. One, she is also globe trotting for hubby Saif Ali Khan’s Agent Vinod. And then there is Golmaal 3 for which she would soon be beginning promotion. Well, that’s what star power is, something which a certain Salman Khan would also agree. Just like he comes up with smash hit film that makes one forget the turkeys from the past, Kareena Kapoor has been dominating the Bollywood scene for a decade, and how. All is forgotten once she comes up with a smash box office success. No wonder, there hasn’t been a dearth of offers from the biggest of filmmakers even as she would be touching 30 years of age this month. With half a dozen films in the making and many more waiting to happen, Kareena is fast gaining a diva status for herself, something that makes her stand out amidst the crowd. Arbaaz Khan : Jona…u knw Salman is a very experienced actor and star. so when I took the script to him and told him that this is the film i want to produce, he kind of was excited from the word go. He got involved and really worked hard and contributed a lot to his character and the film. Salman does listen to any great input so there was no problem of him listening to either me or the director when he felt we were giving the right suggestions

Arbaaz Khan : amkebina…honestly for some unforeseen reasons, our intl tour got cancelled. Its very unfortunate. We were keen to tour London and New York as far as the promotions were concerned but hopefully we might still work out a situation to try and make it somewhere post release.

The director Anees Bazmee being a family friend (he has worked closely with Sonam’s dad Anil Kapoor) Sonam asked for time to promote her film Aisha in India. This, Anees happily granted her even while the ever-accommodating Akshay Kumar grinned and bore it alone in Toronto doing solo shots and a solo song as everyone waited for Sonam to join the unit. Sonam admits, “They were all waiting for me. Heroine ke liye wait kar rahen hain. Working with Aneesji is like being on a holiday. This is Anees’ first romantic film since Pyar Toh Hona Hi Tha. Thank You is about love. Anees has his ideas in place.” Besides Akshay, Sonam loves the entire team of actors in Thank You. “I get along with all my co-stars because I don’t get involved with them. Bobby Deol is so shy. His cousin Abhay is just the opposite. Abhay and Bobby are complete opposites. Me and Bobby love clothes and shopping…” She admits she isn’t in touch with her first co-star Ranbir Kapoor any longer. “We’ve both been working too hard. We aren’t that much in touch. I’d love to work with him again.” The lissom Sonam is so grateful to have a tall co-star in Akshay Kumar. Sighing dramatically she says, “He’s one actor I can wear high heels with! It’s such a relief. When I was signed to do Mausam with Shahid Kapoor, I remember I had gone to Pankaj Kapoor sir’s office. Shahid measured my height. We were relieved when we were nearly the same height. In fact, he was slightly taller because of his hair. She’s excited about Mausam. “Pankaj Kapoorji is shooting it in such a different way.” On the sets of Thank You, Akshay is quite amused each time Sonam walks in with her all-girls’ entourage. “I travel with my four companions all the time. Akshay just grins each time he sees them. I’ve never met anyone as hard-working as Akshay. He’s ready before everyone else and rehearses each scene fifty times. And his comic timing is so hard to match.” Luckily, Sonam had done comedy in Aisha before joining Akshay in Thank You. “My comedy in Aisha is very Lucille Ball, very Goldie Hawn. But in Thank You I needed to drop all my inhibitions. I remember me and my girls had seen Housefull and I asked one of my team member, Tanya, to go to Akshay on the sets and do that scene where Arjun Rampal points to his eyes to say he was watching Akshay. Emraan Hashmi turns into ‘Cheer girl’ & ‘Vampire’ for Crook

He did a film called Good Boy, Bad Boy and now he is doing a film called Crook: It’s Good To Be Bad. What a coincidence. This film, produced by the Bhatts, is an issue based film handled in a typical Bollywood style. The story revolves around Emraan, a guy living in Australia, facing racial discrimination being an Indian, the kind that has been doing the rounds lately in news. Bhatts are also known for the music in their films which almost always turn out to be chartbusters. The music for Crook is scored by the music maestro Pritam, which means it’s certainly something to look out for. The picturisation of the songs would also be interesting as for one of the songs Emraan has done something rather interesting. Mohit Suri, the director of the film was shooting a song ‘Mere Bina’ in Australia and wanted to add some fun element in it but wasn’t getting his head around it and cancelled the shoot for the day. That was when Emraan entered a store that was selling a plethora of crazy stuff right from wigs to hats to other props and he started trying out fake vampire teeth and wigs. Looking at him, Mohit knew instantly that this was exactly what he needed in the song. Mohit convinced Emraan to go for it and the audience would now see Emraan dressed up like a blonde girl to acting like a Vampire, after all entertainment ke liye kuchh bhi karega. Talking about his experience in the song Emraan says, “It was a fun shoot and it really took me by surprise when Mohit asked for an impromptu shoot because we were only entertaining ourselves in the shop and I did not know that he had such thoughts in his mind. I was hesitant at first but when we realized that it was all about having fun and being casual and our natural best, we just crossed all the limits and that can be seen in the film itself. I have been romancing girls in my films and myself dressing up as a girl was something really very, very funny. The song will be out soon and I am hoping people will like it.” As seen in most movies by Bhatts earlier, a newcomer will be opposite Emraan. This time the lady to watch out for is the pretty Neha Sharma. As for the number of kisses in the film, you’ll have to wait and watch. Whether it is present or past, something which has stayed constant in an ever evolving Bollywood is the term ‘opportunity’. There are many who do get an opportunity to make the first impression in the film industry. Fair enough. But how about those who get a second chance? Especially so after the first effort of theirs has gone totally unnoticed? Well, one can count such a number on finger tips. No wonder, one would have expected Shazahn Padamsee to be the scared lot, considering the fact that she had started with the best in the business and still didn’t have much to show to the world when it came to her acting talent. Despite a banner like Yash Raj Films backing her first film Rocket Singh – Salesman of the Year, a smashing co-star Ranbir Kapoor who had a biggie like Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani behind him and a director of the calibre of Shimit Amin calling the shots after making one of the Bollywood’s most respected film till date – Chak De India, Shazahn didn’t have lady luck smiling upon her. Fortunately for her, Madhur Bhandarkar was desperately trying to seek an unexplored face for his first ever comedy Dil Toh Bachcha Hai Ji. After a roller coaster ride that saw number of new girls being considered, the closest being Shraddha Kapoor who was almost signed for the film before she had to make way herself, Shazahn turned out to be the chosen one. No wonder, the pretty girl can’t thank her stars enough that made her not just work with the filmmaker who has a knack of extracting powerhouse performances from his cast but also rub shoulders with the likes of Ajay Devgn and Emraan Hashmi who are on a golden run. “I think God works in his own mysterious ways”, says Shazahn who is maintaining her cool despite such a big break which equates to a second coming for her, “When you just decide to sit around and wait for things to happen, there is nothing at all that moves. On the other hand, when you are working and are thoroughly busy, something wonderful comes your way. I had made a quick dash down South to work in Telugu and Tamil movies. I guess all of this only led to positive vibrations. I was back in business and was lucky enough to get this break from Madhur.” One can also sense that in a way, it was a conscious move on Shazahn’s part to do something which totally belonged to the A league and didn’t give any semblance to being a step down of sorts. After all she had begun with none less than Yash Raj Films and it would have been akin to a death ride had she opted for anything lesser. With a Madhur Bhandarkar film in her kitty, it is crystal clear that big banners are pretty much her calling card. Without sounding diplomatic, does she wish to acknowledge that it has been a conscious move on her part to be green lighting only those films where she works with the best of the best in business? “Let me say yes to that actually”, Shazahn replies calmly, “It was always my decision to work in something only if it was totally high quality. I have always been very selective and I have no qualms in admitting to that. Even when I was doing commercials, I always did the best brands. The numbers may be less but I have always believed in quality over quantity. I had started my acting career in theatre so when it came to films; I wanted to get that one really amazing film with an equally amazing director and co-star. This is what made me go for Rocket Singh… and now Dil Toh Bachcha Hai Ji.” With things going well for her, Shazahn knows that she has to do all to ensure that the new direction that her career has taken lends her positive results. In an industry where there are hardly any second chances, a third chance is a definite no-no. This is the reason why she is going all out to ensure that there is no slip on her part at least for her new endeavour. “Today, I am positioned in a very nice way”, Shazahn takes a deep breath here, “There are lot of newcomers who come into the industry but only a select few four or five new girls get written about even if their first film hasn’t worked. He is very strong headed and has a subtle approach towards his investigations as he charms and cajoles his way through the scared and tight-lipped residents of this dusty district. Akshaye Khanna: Siddhant Chaturvedi Siddhant has raised high in the CBI hierarchy through an idealistic adherence to protocol. He has a very no-nonsense, direct approach, with a ‘copy book’ style of investigation. His straight forward and direct approach towards all the situations is a characteristic that differs him from Pratap. Bipasha Basu: Geeta Geeta is born in a well-to-do family and leads a good life until she is married. Her transition from a girl into a woman changes her life drastically. The dilemma of her love and emotions lands her into the hands of a brutal guy, who takes away her individuality. Traumatized by the inhuman activities happening around, she chooses to be indifferent from the world. Amita Pathak: Roshni Daughter of the richest and the most powerful person in the village. Being unaware of the consequences, the soft-hearted Roshni loses her heart to a lower caste boy and in turn becomes the initiation of the biggest investigation in the village which kick-starts the story of Aakrosh. Trapped in the complicacy of love and hatred, she becomes one of the key elements of wipe out the inhuman crime from the village. Paresh Rawal: Ajatshatru Singh A sweet talking and corrupt police officer, he is full of disgust and hatred for members of lower caste. He misuses his power to the fullest to do everything out of the rule book. Synopsis The film revolves around a lower caste guy who had gone along with his 2 friends to a village – Jhanjhar in Bihar, his native place, to watch Ramleela. These 3 students of Delhi University go missing in the dusty village. In the previous 3 months there was no clue where the young students have vanished. Media and students movement all over Bihar takes a pivotal step for getting hint of these students, its then government appoints CBI officers Siddhant Chaturvedi and Pratap Kumar and find out the truth under it. A person residing in Bihar himself and, Pratap understands the intricacies of race relations in small towns like Jhanjhar. Pratap tries to use his charm and smartness to crack investigation whereas Siddhant has a very no non-sense, direct approach investigation. It’s simply a clash of personalities and ideologies. Investigating in Jhanjhar becomes a tough task for these officers as the local police force Headed by Bhura Ram with the help of local MP’s and landlords run a major branch of the Shool Sena. At the same time the two officers cannot break the ice with local Low cast community members, due to years of fear instilled in them by regular and highly planned Shool Sena attacks. Roshni (daughter of the most powerful and richest person of village) acts as a key element to reveal certain realities and give a new direction to the investigation. Soon the effect of their investigation causes mayhem in Jhanjhar, with riots, burning of houses and killing of peasants in broad daylight. Slowly Pratap with Siddhant’s help starts cracking the case by exerting his influence upon Geeta (a victim to the same inhumanity), who acts as a final key to the investigation.
